Blushing at her words, Finn laughed again, "Ahhh.. I wouldn't.. say that, really." He ran his fingers through his hair again, very nervously, but trying to play it cool. He shrugged and shook his head, "I'm not taken..." He looked down at the table, letting the words hit him as they would and continued on his conversation. "Ooh, well, in that case, I do visit haunted houses every Halloween thank you very much." He held his head up proudly, "Sometimes I don't even scream at the people when they jump out at me." He was being playful, of course, and making fun of himself at the same time. Hey, he had a sense of humor, why not use it?

Ali shrugged, then looked up at him. "...Really? You're not? Wow, that's another stroke of luck for me... I'm probably out for the day, though..." She huffed and pouted, but brightened a moment later. "Oh, my God. Really?" She laughed at his joke, and sighed. "I wonder if you would scream less if you had someone there with you...?"

Finn looked at her, about to say something but then losing his words. He shouldn't be flirting... but come on. He could cut himself a break, for once, "I don't know, I could experiment with that this year." He sounded as if he were actually thinking about it, considering it maybe. He smirked a little, but he tried to cover it up. His conscience was mentally disciplining him right at that point.

"Really, now?" she asked with a giggle, grinning. "Maybe I can be your lab rat...?" She winked, leaning closer to him. "Speaking of Halloween... do you still go trick-or-treating?" Hey, it was a question... "...Oh! Um... feel free to ask me questions... I'm kind of bombarding you with them..."

Finn didn't know whether to let her lean towards him or lean away. For now, he'd stay put. After all, single living wasn't so... bad. "Maybe." He said, softly, smirking. He shrugged, "if I'm hungry for candy... or bored. You know, regular jock activities." He laughed and shook his head, "I'm not funny. Oh, and I don't mind being bombarded with questions. It doesn't happen much." He looked at her, "What about you, though? Celebrate Halloween? It's my favorite holiday."

Ali paused. "Ah... No, actually... I celebrate Día de los Muertos... Or Day of the Dead..." She shrugged. "And while everyone else is celebrating Veterans Day, I am celebrating Martinstag... It's like Halloween and Thanksgiving put into one holiday... That's what happens when your dad's from Spain and your mom's from Germany, I guess."

Finn nodded, "That's actually really cool. At least you know you stand out, yeah?" He smiled politely and drummed his fingers lightly on the table, "I mean, I feel kinda boring now." he laughed slightly and made eye contact with a few passing people and then directed his attention back to Ali.

"Cool to you... I don't really like standing out... more than necessary. It's just the usual for me... I mean, I celebrate American holidays, too, like Halloween, Thanksgiving... Christmas, but... I keep my culture close to me, too." She shrugged and returned his smile shyly. She giggled at him, though got serious. "I would take boring over the life I have now. Every day is like a sad, over-dramatic soap opera with half-decent acting."

Finn shrugged and sniffled a bit. It was cold outside, maybe he was getting a cold. "Sad over-dramatic soap operas seem a bit more entertaining then the life I've got, now." Now meaning since he broke up with Rachel. His life sucked, now. He wouldn't let anyone know that, though. Finn Hudson letting people in? Absurd. Absolutely absurd. Not that far inside, anyway. Maybe just enough to break the surface.

"They're only entertaining if you're not living them," she replied quickly. "Be thankful you can say your life is boring and uneventful... I can't live with that comfort." Well, what a nice conversation this was turning out to be. "...Sorry, I didn't mean to just dump my problems on you like that. So... er... What class do you have next?"

Finn raised an eyebrow at her quick reply. Well, then. He shrugged, "It's fine. I have... I think I have spanish next. You?" He made a point to sound completely uninterested now. Almost as if he was just trying to make small talk. Spanish sounded good right about now. His attention span was floating.

Ali blinked a few times. "Hm, Spanish? Really? That's where I'm headed next. ¿Es una buena clase? ¿Qué del profesor?" Hopefully he'd understand at least one word out of that. She found that a lot of kids didn't have an appreciation for foreign languages and rarely learned anything in their classes. Would he be different?

Finn nodded and cleared his throat, "Sí, la clase es buena. El profesor es el Sr. Schuester, y es muy bueno. También es el instructor de alegría." He looked up at her and laughed, "I hope I said all of that right. Foreign languages are pretty cool to me. I'm taking German sometime in highschool, I hope." Finn did enjoy being able to speak more than one language. It made him feel like an intellectual badass.

Oh, thank God. Someone who might be able to keep up with her. "I must say, I'm impressed. I didn't take you to be the kind of person that really cared about foreign language. That was flawless..." She blinked at him again and grinned. "German...? I could teach you, and help you with Spanish if you ever need it... I know Romani, too, but uh... Not a lot of people even know what that is."

Finn laughed slightly, "What's that supposed to mean?" He said it teasingly, of course. No need to get offended. He smiled and nodded, "That'd be cool. I'd only take the class for the sake of the language, anyway. So if you taught me it would save me a slot for another class," he thought for a second and tilted his head, "I don't even know what Romani is. I'm sorry. It sounds kinda cool though."
